Amy ran through the forest. The lush green trees and bushes flew past her as she attemted to evade the man for another night.
He was almost upon her.
It was like this every night. Dream after dream she suffered this unknown chase and an inexpicable fear of this man, who ever he was.
"Amy, Stop!" He shouted at her after she passed a tree that had beautiful blue blooms on it. The blooms were tiny, about the size of a thumb nail, with violet veins that ran the length of the orchid-like blossom. Every night she looked at this tree as he called her to a stop.
This night would be no different.
He was right behind her, about to touch her arm.
"Damn!" she cursed as she woke, every night it was the same thing. Was she afraid of him? What did he want? Amy showered, ate, and dressed for work. She worked in the Japanese garden in Sanfransisco.
her commute was fairly simple and slow, "Hey Jose," she said as she boarded the trolly, her light brown hair swished slightly in her shoulder length ponytail. When it was her turn to get off she simply nodded to Jose and stepped away to the side walk, which she followed to the garden shed and retieved her tools.
As she made her rounds weeding and tending to the plants she saw the tree from her dreams. Amy stood only a few feet from it. Its fragrant little blue and purple blooms waved in the slight breeze, they smelled so sweet. The light fragrance made her long to touch the tree, a want so great she couldn't help but appease it. How soft and velvety the bark on the trunk and branches was! Intoxicatingly so... she couldn't part with the tree, she didn't want to. Nothing in the world had ever completed her like this tree of her reoccuring dreams. She shut her eyes to take in the scent and feel more intensely.
"Amy!" that voice! she screamed in her head as her eyes snapped open. The intoxication gone from her mind, she ran in fear, not caring who this person was or what the wanted with her. He gave chase.
The trees and layout of the garden was different than that of only a moment ago, "Where the hell am I?" she questioned as she viewed more of the beautiful trees that were many stories high.
"Amy, Stop!" his voice called demandingly. She looked back and found she had ran in an entire circle. Amy clung to the tree, he was behind her... about to grab her, and take her somewhere terrible.
